2008 Audi Pretty Polly Stakes
The Pretty Polly Stakes is a flat race for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies, run over one mile, two furlongs. It acquired Group 1 status in 2004.
For 2008, the Audi Pretty Polly Stakes will be raced on Saturday 28 June - the second day of the Irish Derby Festival at the Curragh.
The Pretty Polly Stakes is named after the filly Pretty Polly, who won the British Fillies’ Triple Crown in 1904. The outcome of this race is generally a good clue as to which horse will come out tops in the Irish Oaks, which is run - also at the Curragh - in July.

The 2007 Audi Pretty Polly Stakes went to Aidan O’Brien-trained Peeping Fawn, who earlier in the season won places in both the Irish Guineas and the English Epsom Oaks.
Setting the pace for the race was the four-year-old Speciosa, who won the 1000 Guineas in 2006. In the final furlong, Peeping Fawn made it to the front and took the lead, for a decisive win by two lengths.
Third place in the race was taken by West Wind, who earlier won the French Prix de Diane on only her fourth start. Ridden by JP Murtagh and trained in France by HA Pantall, West Wind finished another two lengths behind Speciosa.
